UNM Student, Jessica Yeaton Wins Women’s 50K Birkie!

1st year UNM Physical Therapy student and 2018 Winter Olympian, Jessica Yeaton takes the win at the American Birkebeiner, the biggest cross country ski race in North America winning the women’s 50k free-style race in Wisconsin besting a field of 766 women after taking the lead at 30k. Sandia Trails Improvement Project

A public scoping meeting on the Sandia Trails Improvement Project (STIP) is being held by the USFS on Wednesday, July 17th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Sandia Ranger District office located at 11776 Hwy. 337, Tijeras, NM 87059.  Sandia Nordic Ski Club’s groomed trails improvement project is a component of STIP.  The purpose of the meeting is for Kerry Wood, the Trails and Wilderness Program Manager for the Sandia Ranger District, to provide an overview of the 5 components of STIP. Hope you can come out and show your support for this broad-based project that includes hiking biking trails in Placitas, improvements in existing trails in the east mountains and purpose built trails for xc skiing and mountain biking.
