Original plan was to groom all the trails today but the last wind storm created some issues namely a 12 + in. fir blocking the trail just below Klaus. I attempted to winch it off the trail but no go, cut it in two but still no go winching it. Did manage to clear a path for skiers but more saw work needed to totally clear it. Good bit of downed branches, needles and debris on Klaus and several grooming passes cleaned it up a bit. Also a big leaner across Klaus near the gravel pit which will probably have to wait for a saw crew to clear, passable for now. Coverage on the Service rd. is still good, one rock exposed on Klaus (flagged). Snow is looking a bit tired but on a sunny warm day not bad skiing. A skier (Brian) coming up from 10k also reported a smallish tree across the trail near the meadow but can be skied around. Happy Leap Year Day! ... See MoreSee Less
